Chapter Five:
In the thicket lies the spider’s web.
A robed figure stalked threw the under-growth, Balmortis Secondus, like its sister planet Balmortis Prime, was a jungle world, a death world. Its inhabitants consisted of flora, fungi and the local wildlife.
All human settlement was on the planets moon, this planets only connection to the imperium was the odd, temporary mines, scattered across the planets surface.
Balmortis’s crust was made up almost entirely of iron ore. This was the only reason why the imperium was here, a perfect place to run a cult.
‘Master, I…. Cannot…. Keep… up…please…. slow…. Down’ came a voice from behind him.
‘The light is with us, we shall rest here.’<br>
‘Thank you’ the other figure wheezed stumbling out of a massive shrub.
‘The entrance is not far from here, all this time..’ the robed figure whispered to himself.
The peathingyed coloured foliage was suffocating yet beautiful to be around. You can go anywhere you want in nature, and you won’t find a single ugly thing. From the desert plains of Hakear to the towering spires of Rheumy, not a single blemish of imperfection.
The jungle was quite round here, chaos had leaked into this world and it was slowly destroying it.
After a short rest they set of again, stalking once more into the jungle.
They finally came to what they were looking for. A clearing, one of the very few on the entire planet, in the middle of this clearing was a signium. A shooting star, embellished on top of a imperial Aquila.
‘The Cult of The Blazing Star’ whispered the robed figure.
And so did october 31, 2003 pass into the conclaves history as the night of massive lock down.
"We are the harbingers of a new age. We control the element of our futures. We are the three, yet we are one, and we will show you the way." -Inquisitor Vlad Erin Carlson of the Triad.
